The Animated Series' Showrunner Has Seen Fans' Season 2 Predictions — With Some Good News

The much-anticipated second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel debuts on the streaming platform soon, and audience theories has been widespread.

The first season introduces a large cast of personalities living within Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds with musical numbers about their clashes, and builds heated competitions and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for the new season vary widely, but certain threads emerge over and over: Will a fan-favorite character escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the mysterious "deal" affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Naturally, I don't make the show with audience demands specifically in mind," the creator commented earlier this year. "However I feel like me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just naturally. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator reveals her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by the production companies, which finance the series.

That might mean viewers have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they could be shocked at how fast the new season progresses, and how many of what they're anticipating unfolds this season.

"I believe people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some incredible disclosures, some fascinating backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the previously silent cast members."

She's certainly aware of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — especially in the format of audience prediction charts.

"I've come across a couple people make a bingo card about the new season," she mentions. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've actually done a few items, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
